Frequently Asked Questions

I HAVE DONE ROOT CANAL TREATMENT FOR MY FRONT TEETH MANY YEARS BACK. NOW IT GOT FRACTURED AND DISCOLOURED , CAN IT BE REPLACED IMMEDIATELY REPLACED WITH IMPLANTS?

  • Yes, it can be extracted and replaced with basal implant and fixed crown immediately
  • Since root canal treated tooth becomes weaker and brittle, the risk of fracture is always there
  • Extraction and immediate replacement will be a better and predictable solution than trying to save the fractured root canal treated  tooth with post and buildups.

WHAT MATERIAL IS BASAL IMPLANTS ARE MADE OF?

  • Basal implants are made of titanium which is biocompatible
  • It fuses well with the bone (osseointegration)
  • Most surgeons are using titanium for hip and knee replacement surgeries

HOW MUCH IS THE DENTAL IMPLANTS COSTS? ARE THEY EXPENSIVE?

  • More than implants the cost for bone grafting procedures and extra components ( connecting screws, abutments, multi unit abutments) are expensive.
  • In strategic basal implants, there is no addition screws, extra abutment costs. And also additional bone grafts and multiple surgeries are avoided.
  • Because of this reasons basal dental implants are much more economical and safer than traditional conventional implants like nobel bio care implants.
  • Cost will of course depend on the extent of the procedure and the number of implants.

HOW LONG WILL THE DENTAL IMPLANTS LAST?

  • If properly executed by dental implantologist and regularly maintained by the patient with good care the implants should lasts for a LIFETIME.
  • Most dental problems stem from improper home care and delaying the treatment when needed, the same holds true for implants.
  • With proper care and routine dental check-ups implants should last a LIFETIME.

DOES BASAL IMPLANTS REQUIRE ANY SPECIAL CARE AFTER TREATMENT?

  • Presume the dental implants are your natural teeth and treat them in that way
  • Brush twice daily with tooth brush (without paste)
  • Use floss for cleaning in between teeth
  • Do gentle massage on gums with your finger
  • Gargle and rinse with regular water after each meals
  • Return for regular checkups

IS IT POSSIBLE TO PLACE DENTAL IMPLANTS IMMEDIATELY AFTER EXTRACTION?

  • Yes, it is possible and preferred method also.
  • Placing the implant immediately after extraction preserve both width and height of the bone and may prevent the need for placing bone grafts as bone naturally shrinks back after teeth extracted.
  • By immediate loading we can save at least three months of healing time compared to waiting for an extraction site to heal for implant placement.
  • In single visit and in single anaesthesia both extraction and implant placement will be completed.
  • No need for multiple injections , multiple surgeries and multiple visits.

WHAT IS THE DURATION FOR IMPLANT PROCESS? HOW MANY DAYS I HAVE TO BE WITHOUT TEETH?

  • If it is single or multiple front teeth on half day you have to wait. If we place implants in the morning, by evening you will get your fixed teeth.
  • If it is both upper and lower jaw or multiple teeth involving many areas, it will take 2-3 days depending on the number of teeth and the type of bridge ( ceramic or acrylic) constructed.

IS THE DENTAL INJECTION/ ANESTHETIC INJECTION WILL BE PAINFUL?

  • No. By using computer controlled local anaesthetic  system ( called STA WAND ) you won’t feel any pain or discomfort during the implant procedure.

   STA WAND:

WILL THE IMPLANT PROCEDURE PAINFUL

  •  STA – SINGLE TOOTH ANAESTHESIA is a  computer controlled local anaesthetic delivery system   (CCLADS).
  • It is the only anaesthetic delivery system that incorporates Dynamic Pressure Sensing Technology (DPS).

IS THE DENTAL IMPLANT PROCEDURE WILL BE PAINFUL?

  • Dental implants are placed under adequate local anesthesia.
  • During the procedure you won’t have any pain or discomfort
  • You will be prescribed for adequate antibiotics and analgesics to reduce the post operative discomfort.

MY DENTIST TELLS I NEED BONE GRAFTING PROCEDURES BEFORE I CAN RECEIVE ANY IMPLANTS.IS IT POSSIBLE TO AVOID THE BONE GRAFTING PROCEDURES?

Dental implant treatment providers educate patients to the best of their knowledge. As long as they hold on to conventional implantology, these additional procedures (such as bone augmentation with lengthy healing and waiting periods) will appear necessary – even despite the sufferings of the patient and despite the fact that treatment progress and success are uncertain due to numerous interventions. But patients nowadays have the choice to reject conventional treatment and look for alternatives. Most of the time conventional implantologists are unaware of the principles and developments in the strategic basal implant treatment methods. This often to leads to offering unwanted and complicated ,unpredictable procedures to the patient and patient suffering in long run with complications and periimplantits.

The Strategic Implant® allows for work with very little bone supply, since the polished, single piece implants are inserted into stable bone areas that everyone has in sufficient quantities. Even patients with existing peri-implantitis, periodontal disease or gingivitis can receive immediate care with the Simpladent® method. The result is predictable and reliable.
